As Australia’s largest transporter of natural gas, the APA Group own more than 14,000 km of gas pipeline. So when they needed someone to test the integrity of their pipe spares there was only going to be one easy solution.
Expansion Seal Technologies’ Griptight Test Plugs.
Using EST’s Griptights, Imatech successfully tested more than 60 pipes of various lengths and sizes at high water pressures – up to 13,900PSI (960 Bar) to be exact. Our plugs are specially designed to use the test pressure to grip and seal the pipe securely. So the higher the test pressure, the tighter our plugs will hold on to the wall of the pipe. As a result, APA saved many man hours due to the fact that Griptights do not require welding on end caps or blinds. Installation is as simple as “plug and torque”.
